Privacy Policy
RecoiroQ (“the app”) handles your video, audio and face detection results entirely on your own device. Nothing you edit or export is sent anywhere.
1. Our approach
RecoiroQ is designed so that everything needed to edit a 9:16 video happens on device. There is no sign-up and no account, and the developer has no mechanism to receive your videos, audio or personal information.
2. What the developer collects from app use
In the current version of the app, nothing. Specifically, the app does not:
- send or store your videos, photos, audio or exported files anywhere;
- ask for a name, email address or phone number;
- read the advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other companies' apps and websites;
- access your location, contacts or calendar.
This section is about using the app. If you write to the developer through the contact form on this website, that does give us your name and email address — see section 7 for how they are handled. For the diagnostic reports that reach the developer through Apple when you have enabled sharing in your device settings, see section 4. See section 10 for how this would work if a future version collects anonymous usage information to improve the app.
3. What the app handles on your device
The app works with the following information locally. The app does not send any of it to a server.
Photos and videos
The app asks for access to your photo library so you can bring videos in. Imported videos are copied into the app's own storage and kept there as part of a project. A separate “add” permission is used when you save an exported video back to your photo library.
Microphone
The microphone is used only while you are recording a narration. Recordings are saved into the project on your device, and the microphone is not used at any other time.
Speech recognition
To label a narration on the timeline, the app transcribes it using on-device speech recognition. Audio is not sent to a recognition server. If the language model for your language is not installed yet, the operating system may download it from Apple — that request contains no audio of yours.
Face detection
Face-tracking blur uses Apple's Vision framework to locate faces on device. The results (position and size) are used only to draw the blur; no face images or biometric templates are stored or transmitted, and no attempt is made to identify anyone.
Project data
Project names, clip order, trim points, caption text and styling, and blur settings are stored in the app's area on your device. The app does not sync anything through iCloud automatically. To move a project to another device, you export it as a single file (.recoiroq) and transfer it yourself.
4. Apple services
The app uses the following operating-system features. These are provided by Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- iCloud Photos and shared albums: if the video you pick is not on the device, the system — or the app itself — fetches it from Apple for you. It is only fetched; nothing of yours is sent out.
- Photo library: exported videos are saved to your library.
- Share sheet: used to hand an exported video or project file to another app. What happens there is governed by that app or service.
- App Store / StoreKit: used for purchases and to check entitlement.
- Diagnostics: if you have enabled sharing with app developers in your device settings, reports about crashes and performance — where the app failed, your device model, your OS version — may reach the developer through Apple. They contain no name, email address or account information. This is Apple's own mechanism, and you can turn it off in your device settings at any time.
5. In-app purchases
RecoiroQ Pro is purchased through the App Store. Payment details are handled by Apple and never reach the developer. The app uses StoreKit to determine whether a purchase is active and keeps only that result (Pro on or off) on your device.
6. Third parties, ads and analytics
The current version of the app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Since nothing is collected, there is nothing to share with anyone. See section 10 if that changes.
7. This website
This site (recoiroq.com) currently sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. The contact form page sets a single temporary session cookie to prevent forged submissions; it disappears when you close the browser and is never used to follow you. The web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. To stop repeated submissions, the server also stores a hashed form of the sender's IP address together with the time of sending for about an hour; it is not linked to your name or your message.
Anything you send through the contact form — your name, email address and message, along with the IP address and browser details attached as a spam precaution — is used only to read and reply to your enquiry, and is kept no longer than handling it requires. It is never passed to a third party without your consent.
8. Storage and deletion
Projects and videos live only on your device. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes the data it held. On the Mac the project folder stays behind when the app is deleted, so remove it by hand if you no longer want it. (Either way, videos already saved to your photo library and files you exported remain.)
The developer holds no data about your use of this version of the app. Anything you sent through the contact form stays in the developer's mailbox, kept no longer than handling your enquiry requires; to have it disclosed, corrected or deleted, ask through the contact form.
9. Children's privacy
The app is not intended to collect personal information from children, and it does not do so. If other people — children included — appear in footage you record, handling that footage is the responsibility of the person who recorded and uses it.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised as features change or as the law requires. A revision applies from the moment it is posted on this page, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
In particular, a future version may collect anonymous usage information — which features are used and how often, whether an export succeeded — to find problems and improve the app. If that happens, this page will be revised to say exactly what is collected, and the App Store privacy details will be updated to match.
11. Who we are, and how to reach us
Questions about this policy, and about how personal information is handled, go to:
- Business: Isshin (一心), the developer's trade name — the same name shown as the seller on the App Store
- Contact: the contact form
The developer's name and address are provided without delay on request through the contact form. Requests to disclose, correct, add to, delete or stop the use of your personal data are handled through the same form.
